Reflection 1

When I first teach Communicative Arabic, I was so sure that my students had known their subjects as they had a background of studying Arabic since primary school Level 1 Arabic is very simple and they already mastered reading and writing Arabic. As I did the exercises in class or when I ask them questions that I can answer quickly. Level 1 should be to those who doesn't have any basics of Arabic language. But as I went on with the class, I realized there actually was a big gap between the students. Those students who frequently answered my questions were actually the few ones who were active in class. While the real students who need guide from me actually shied away from me as they didnot understand my teaching. This was my first experience. I now learn not to have high expectations of the students and not to focus only on the bright ones and left others behind.
